Children’s Education Allowance and Reimbursement of Tuition Fee which was hitherto payable separately will be merged and will henceforth be known as ‘Children Education Allowance Scheme. Tuition reimbursement is an employee benefit where an employer reimburses employees for the cost of taking courses and pursuing education. The purpose of tuition reimbursement is to help employees gain new skills and knowledge that can be used in their current position or to prepare for a new role within the company. 

Under the Scheme of Children Education Allowance, reimbursement can be availed by Government Servants up to a maximum of 2 children. Reimbursement, as indicated above, will be applicable for expenditure on the education of school-going children only i.e., for children from classes nursery to twelfth, including classes eleventh and twelfth held by junior colleges or schools affiliated to Universities or Boards of Education.
